About Us
Fred J. Greene, Jr. founded Greene Machine & Manufacturing, Inc. in 1982 after retiring as Manager from the Tumpane Company. Fred applied his 38 years of manufacturing experience, his established reputation for outstanding customer service, and his desire for excellent product quality to establish GMM as a leader in the industry.
Stan Greene assumed the leadership role at GMM in 1994. His goal was to maintain his father's excellent reputation in the industry while expanding and modernizing GMM's capabilities. Stan acquired CNC mills and lathes which allowed GMM to pursue production machining work to compliment the existing conventional work.
Gwen and Larry Collins purchased GMM in January 2006. Both are graduates of Mercer University School of Engineering located in Macon, Georgia. Under their leadership, GMM is doing business as Collins Manufacturing Company (CMC). CMC earned AS9100/ISO9001 Certification in 2015, opening up a whole new world of opportunity. In 2020, we added two manufacturing facilities on Lower Boundary Street in Macon, Georgia (formerly Steel Services). In 2021, we acquired another location on Avondale Mill Road (formerly Schwartz Precision Manufacturing) in Macon, Georgia. In the meantime, both our staff and our capabilities have grown by leaps and bounds that we could not have imagined.
Gwen and Larry's objective is to continue producing quality parts that meet and exceed customers expectations. They are committed to investing in employee training and equipment to ensure Collins Manufacturing Company stays at the top of the class.
